I do hand and finger tattoos… sometimes

I won’t lie I can be a bit picky about tattooing hands and fingers but for the right person and the right tattoo I’m down.

Some things to consider when wanting your hands and fingers tattooed are

-Do you have your career established and it wont effect your future work negatively

-Do you have other tattoos? I typically wont do fingers and hands if you are young and only have a couple not visible tattoos. This usually goes back to the Job killer part.

I know that tattoos aren’t so taboo anymore and it’s easy to come across and see all these people on social media rocking there face, throat, hand and finger tattoos and when done well they look bad ass! Even though it’s getting more and more popular and less taboo to sport those more extreme tattoos it still can be a job killer. So make sure you are fully committed to your career path or settled in to a career that is cool with it.

Another thing to consider with hands and fingers is how these tattoos heal. Typically yhe tops of the hands heal fairly well but are definitely prone to having pieces fall out. Fingers can also look good but can fall out even easier. The tops of fingers will hold while the sides usually fall out or blow out, same as the palms. As you move down onto the fingers the tattoo also typically has a foggy look to it.

That being said I have also had some great success with fingers and hand tattoos and personally really love doing decorative cyber sigil, black work or neo tribal designs on fingers.

I would suggest that if you are fully committed to the fingers and hands do your research and discuss the idea (unless your already heavily tattooed then just jump the fuck in) with your tattoo artist.
